What you'll do

Establish a flower-rich mix of at least 4 grasses and 10 wildflowers as margins, blocks or in-field strips by early autumn, within 12 months. Manage it so flowers bloom from spring to early autumn for pollinators and pest predators; don't apply fertiliser or manure, don't use it for access, turning or storage, and only spot-treat problem weeds. This is a limited-area action — it counts toward the 25% cap.

Evidence to keep

• Establishment photos and the seed mix used
• The seed mix species list (4+ grasses, 10+ wildflowers)
• A dated sowing record
• Dated cutting/management records
• Seed invoices

When

• Aug–Sep: Sow by early autumn (within 12 months) (first year)
