Haymaking supplement (late cut)

What you'll do

A supplement to CLIG3 (very low nutrient grassland), like the haymaking supplement but with a later cut: don't graze or cut for at least 9 continuous weeks in spring/summer before harvest, let the flowers and grasses set seed, then take a hay crop no earlier than mid-July, leaving an uncut margin around at least half the edge and field-drying the hay.

Evidence to keep

• Field operation records at parcel level, with invoices
• A grazing activity record, if you graze the aftermath
• Dated photos showing the hay crop and the uncut margin

When

• Apr–Jul: Don't graze or cut for ≥9 continuous weeks in spring/summer before harvest
• Jul–Aug: Cut for hay no earlier than mid-July; field-dry and turn at least once
