Eligibility conditions
- Not on land parcels of more than 15ha above the moorland line
- An SFI HEFER must identify the historic or archaeological feature on the land
What you'll do
Keep a continuous grass sward over a historic or archaeological feature on grassland to protect it — minimise bare ground, scrub, bracken and pernicious weeds. Don't plough, cultivate, re-seed, harrow or roll it, and keep vehicles and stock access at least 6m from the feature. Not on land parcels of more than 15 ha above the moorland line, and the land must be on an SFI HEFER before entry.
Evidence to keep
- Field operation records at parcel level, with invoices
- Dated photos showing the grass cover over the feature
