Eligibility conditions

• Within an SDA below the moorland line, draining directly into a watercourse
• Prone to waterlogging, compaction and poaching — keep written evidence

What you'll do

Take all livestock off grassland in severely disadvantaged areas through autumn and winter — usually early October to mid-March — to protect vulnerable soil and water. Keep grazing records for each parcel.

Evidence to keep

• Written evidence the land is prone to waterlogging, compaction or poaching
• Grazing activity records for each parcel showing the autumn/winter removal

When

• Oct–Mar: Remove all livestock through autumn and winter (early Oct–mid Mar)
