Keep native breeds on grazed habitats supplement (>80%)
£146 per hectare, per year
Supplement — an add-on to a base action, not standalone.
Where it applies
Improved grassland, Permanent grassland
Eligibility conditions
- More than 80% of total GLU must be 'at risk' UK native breeds, registered pedigree or heritage semi-feral
What you'll do
A supplement to a grazing or organic grassland base action (AGF1, AGF2, CLIG3, OFC1, OFC2, OFM1 or OFM2): keep more than 80% of the grazing livestock units as registered rare or native breeds — their hardy, varied grazing helps these habitats.
Evidence to keep
- Monthly grazing records at parcel level
- Animal IDs with breed registration and pedigree records
- Proof of provenance and parentage, and records of any replacements
This is a supplement to
- AGF1 — Maintain very low density (30–50 trees/ha) in-field agroforestry, less sensitive land
- AGF2 — Maintain low density (51–130 trees/ha) in-field agroforestry, less sensitive land
- CLIG3 — Manage grassland with very low nutrient inputs
- OFC1 — Organic conversion — improved permanent grassland
- OFC2 — Organic conversion — unimproved permanent grassland
- OFM1 — Organic land management — improved permanent grassland
- OFM2 — Organic land management — unimproved permanent grassland
